Rotta privacy policy

Rotta is an app in Italian for the Italian boating licence exam (patente nautica), for iPhone, iPad and Android. This policy explains what data it uses: in practice, none that ever reaches us.

In short

• Rotta has no account and never asks for your name, email or any other personal data.
• It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party data collection.
• It works offline: questions, lessons, audio and images are all inside the app.
• It asks for no permissions such as location, camera, microphone or notifications.

What stays on your phone

Rotta stores on your device, in the app’s private storage:

• your progress per topic and per question (right and wrong answers, saved questions and questions to review);
• the mock exams you took and the one in progress;
• your chart work (carteggio) exercises;
• preferences, such as the Motore or Vela section;
• a log of the app’s last technical errors, visible under Statistiche and erasable there.

This data is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you turn on device backup (iCloud or Google), it may be included in your own backup, in your account.

External links

In the Carteggio section, one link opens the official PDF of chart 5D on the Italian Portale dell’Automobilista, in your browser. The request only happens if you tap the link, and from then on that website’s privacy policy applies.

Purchases

Rotta is free to download. If you unlock the full app, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handle the payment under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details, name or email.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Rotta deletes everything the app saved on your phone. We have no copy, so there is nothing to ask us to delete.

Children

Rotta is not directed at children under 13 and collects no one’s data.
